Get involved
Barmy Article has been undergoing a bit of an online revamp over the last few weeks.
The printed mag remains the same and will always be the core feature of what Barmy Article is all about, but the online presence and the community around it is evolving.
This substack will remain as the most direct way to get the important info direct to your inbox. Beyond this…
Facebook page - Updates on the mag as well as sharing old articles from the substack, along with new features from new contributors. Match posters, video compilations. On the page you can interact with posts and share them to other places to help spread the word
Facebook group - ‘Manchester United women chat by Barmy Article’ has been around a while but is just starting to grow after a period of concentrated posting. The title is a mouthful but it covers all the search options. Here you can start your own posts and engage with other fans.
Instagram - A new dedicated Instagram page leaving my personal one for random pictures from my lunchtime walks around Manchester. The new page will be more focused on regular content and engagement.
So what can you do?
The easiest thing is just to engage with it. Hitting the like button is the easiest and most basic of feedback, letting us know its being seen and appreciated.
Sharing posts, ether through an Instagram repost or on Facebook to other groups increases the visibility. As does sharing these substack posts, which you can do with this button.
What about content though?
We’re always on the lookout for contributors to the mag. We have a good group of regular contributors, but it’s vital to have variety to widen that scope and mix it up. Even if you just write once for the fanzine, that’s adding to the diversity of opinion and voices.
Another big need though, online contributions. Are you an Instagram expert? A Facebook wizz. See how old I sound? I clearly need some social media guidance. Maybe you’re just interested in what the fanzine is doing and would like to influence where it could go? All of that input is welcome.
Whether your ideas are about branching out into other platforms or chipping in with the existing ones, we’d love to hear from you. All contributions, big and small, will help push the fanzine forward.
