Let's play a game

For the coming season, you can take part in a predictions game with Barmy Article.

It will take place on the discord server (if you don’t have an account, you can get one and figure it out easily enough). Players will be split into 4 teams, like houses a la Harry Potter. Each team will take part in 2 prediction games throughout the season along with other one off challenges along the way, amassing points for their team.

Score line prediction

Teams will submit 3 score lines for each match. You can either submit the same score 3 times if you’re confident or hedge your bets with 3 different guesses. The team captain will also choose one of those selections as a captain’s choice which will score double.

Scoring

5 points — exact score correct
3 points — Utd’s goals correct (final result doesn’t matter)
2 points — correct result (win/draw/loss), score doesn’t matter

Line up prediction

Teams will predict the starting line up for each game, submitting 1 keeper, 4 defenders, 3 midfielders and 3 forwards.

Scoring

1 point — for each player correctly named in the starting XI
2 bonus points — for each fully correct position block (all 4 defenders right, all 3 midfielders right, all 3 forwards right — assessed separately)
3 bonus points — for getting the entire XI correct

Each team will have their own private chat channel to strategise, with other channels for discussing the games with other teams and plenty more channels to talk all things Utd Women and the fanzine.
